Raw potato juice is rich in Vitamin C, fiber, B vitamins, potassium, magnesium, manganese, copper, iron, calcium, phosphorus, sulfur, and some protein. Here are some of the benefits that we hope can inspire you to give it a try.

Potato juice for arthritis

From arthritic pain to aches in your knees, elbows, joints, neck, shoulders, or back – raw potato has an anti-inflammatory effect. It can help reduce that pain. Many of our clients who experience arthritic flare-ups in countries with extreme winters have found significant relief after introducing raw potato juice into their meal plans. The antioxidants in them help reduce chronic inflammation. While inflammation is good for us as it is your body’s natural defense mechanism to protect us, it can become dangerous when it is uncontrolled and chronic.

Potato juice for improved circulation

Many of us today struggle with poor circulation. Your blood carries oxygen, a vital life force, and nutrients from the food you eat to the billions of cells in your body. We always say: It isn’t just about what you eat but also how your body assimilates and digests it. These nutrients can only nourish your cells when you have an efficiently working digestive system for which proper blood circulation is crucial. Raw potatoes and their juice is rich in vitamin B (niacin) that boosts oxygenation and blood circulation to all the parts of your body.

Potato juice for pH balance

Most diseases breed in an acidic environment. Yes, your body has a natural pH balance mechanism to keep the ratio of these acidic and alkaline levels in check. But today, thanks to a poor lifestyle and the constant exposure to junk food, chronic stress, uncontrolled inflammation, broad-spectrum antibiotics, and medication, our bodies are becoming more acidic. So we need to assist it sometimes to become alkaline. Raw potato juice does this beautifully because it is highly alkaline and neutralizes excess acids in the stomach. Many cancer patients wake up and have some raw potato juice in the morning, between their day, or even at night to keep their bodies alkaline.

Potato juice for eczema flare-ups

Raw potato juice is considered a powerful kitchen remedy for eczema, where your skin can turn red and become itchy due to extreme dryness. Many of our clients in the Middle East – Saudi Arabia, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and so on, where the hot climate can trigger eczema flare-ups and application of oils or steroidal creams don’t suffice, have experienced the power of raw potato juice. When applied to the eczema-affected areas consistently for 10 to 15 days, raw potato juice can bring about immediate relief. Children and adults who have tried this have reported that it helps their flare-ups subside.

Now, does this mean that just applying potato juice alone will help? No. If you have eczema, you need to work on your overall lifestyle, cleanse and rejuvenate your body, get rid of build-up toxins, eat the right foods, move more, sleep better, and manage stress levels to manage it.

Potato juice for excess uric acid

You know that excess uric acid in your body can lead to a condition like gout, where you experience sudden and severe pain, tenderness, or swelling in your joints. Many people are dealing with uric acid issues today. One of the most common signs of this is a pain in your big toe. Your body’s biofeedback is signaling that your kidney isn’t working right. It is unable to get rid of the excess uric acid in your body. Raw potato juice can break down and flush out uric acid from your body. So if you suffer from uric acid-related issues, it may be a good option for you to get one glass of raw potato juice in the morning or at night.

Potato juice for gastritis

Do you struggle with constant acidity, indigestion, flatulence, and bloating? 1 to 2 tablespoons of raw potato juice mixed with a little bit of water before your breakfast, lunch, and dinner for about 1 to 2 weeks can help with relief. It reduces inflammation in the gut and boosts your digestive health.

Potato juice for cholesterol

Raw potato juice is rich in fiber that helps clean up excess bad cholesterol from your system. Did you know raw potato juice is a zero-cholesterol food? Yes, so it can help you manage your cholesterol levels.

Potato juice for a natural cleanse

Raw potato juice is excellent for cleansing your kidney, liver, gallbladder, and body. It boosts your immunity and helps keep aches and pains at bay.

Many of our clients who have used raw potato juice as a topical application reported softer hair. Raw potato juice can help you balance the pH level, keep your scalp clean and help fight dandruff, eczema, and other fungal problems. Using it regularly also boosts collagen that nourishes your hair follicles, fights thinning and promotes growth. Since it is rich in antioxidants, it slows down graying. Want shinier, blacker, and stronger hair?

How to use raw potato juice?

Apply the raw potato juice to your scalp and the length of your hair using a cotton pad. Leave it for 20 minutes to an hour. Rinse with water. You can follow it up with a chemical-free shampoo. Shop for ethical and chemical-free shampoos here.

Potato juice for dark circles and puffiness

Raw potato juice is also effective in remedying dark circles and reducing puffiness caused by water retention in your face. Apply raw potato juice by soaking a cotton pad and applying it under your eyes for dark circles. Drinking potato juice is also considered to help reduce puffiness and improve your natural glow.

How do you make raw potato juice?

It is simple. Use organic or homegrown raw potatoes if you can (shop for quality raw potatoes here). If you are buying it elsewhere, it is best to peel the skin off to avoid pesticide residue and dirt from holding onto it.

Wash the raw potatoes well, peel the skin (unless organic/homegrown) and juice it with water in a blender. If the potato has green offshoots, please remove them. These are poisonous.

If you do not like the taste of raw potato juice, you can also mix it up with carrot or beetroot juice. Want to give it a flavor boost? You can also add a little bit of ginger or honey. I prefer having it plain. Have a 200 ml shot early in the morning or at night. Let me know how that works for you.

REMEMBER…

Everything comes with a disclaimer. Do it only if it suits you. If it doesn’t, avoid it. Always speak to your healthcare provider before adding raw potato juice to your meals, especially if you have high potassium levels in your blood and are advised to be on a low-potassium diet. Raw potatoes are rich in potassium. So always make an informed choice.
