Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh aloe gel
  • 3/4 cup coconut oil
  • 2 tbsp shea butter
  • 1 tbsp manuka honey
  • 10 drops of essential oil of choice: chamomile, rose, lavender oil, tea tree oil

Instructions

  • Combine all ingredients in a sterilized bowl.
  • Whip the ingredients to a thick, creamy consistency.
  • Once the cream is smooth, spoon it into a clean mason jar with a lid.
  • Store in a cabinet or a cupboard and use the cream on the sunburned area until absorbed.

Power tips and variations

  • You can also use avocado butter instead of shea butter.
  • You can alternate coconut oil with almond oil and jojoba oil too.

Notes

  • Bradykinesia, an enzyme found in aloe vera helps reduce inflammation when topically applied.
  • Coconut oil is ultra-hydrating and helps relieve the symptoms by replenishing the skin's nourishment.
  • Ferulic acid and linoleic acid in coconut oil help reduce the effect of sunburn, create a moisture barrier, and help quick healing.
