Learn to make a quick refresher and a natural coolant this summer for a welcome reprieve from the sweltering summer heat.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp sabja or basil seeds
  • 1 tsp organic jaggery powder or raw honey, as per taste or availability
  • 1- inch grated ginger
  • 8 mint leaves, crushed well
  • A glass of water

Instructions
 

  • Soak sabja seeds in water for 15 minutes.
  • Grate or crush the ginger and mint in a mortar and pestle.
  • Add all the ingredients to a glass of water with lemon juice. You can add organic jaggery powder or raw honey to sweeten this.
  • Garnish with mint leaves. Enjoy.

Power tips and variations

  • You can use chia seeds instead of sabja seeds, too.
  • Add chopped apples and pineapple to the refresher drink for a flavor boost.

  • Sabja or basil seeds act as a natural body coolant and provide relief from the scorching summer heat.
  • Adding lemon acts as a sour jolt of electrolyte and is a rich source of Vitamin C.
