“My non-alcoholic fatty liver has moved from Grade 3 to Grade 2”

– Dashma

If you still believe that fatty liver cannot be reversed, you need to read this.

Meet Dashma, a homemaker, who came to us in her late 30s. When she first came to us, she struggled with…

  • Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD) Grade 3
  • Stubborn fat
  • Acidity to the extent that she could not sleep peacefully at night and would toss from side to side
  • Low energy
  • Irregular periods
  • PCOD
  • Difficult relationship with food
  • A sedentary lifestyle
  • And more…

What did we do?

Her Nutritionist and Lifestyle Expert, Mishita Kapur, encapsulates our approach:

  • As much as Dashma tried to follow the plan, what she needed beyond it was personalized care and constant motivation to keep up with her goals.
  • We worked on improving her exercise routine and physical activity levels.
  • We introduced herbs into her routine that helped with balancing her hormones.
  • An important protocol we followed was our liver booster plans and adding cleansing foods and supplements when required.
  • She deeply struggled with her sleep routine. Incorporating sleep hygiene techniques and making her patterns consistent made a big difference.

What was the outcome?

In Dashma’s own words:

  • My non-alcoholic fatty liver went from Grade 3 to Grade 2.
  • My acidity issue was resolved within 4 days of joining the program.
  • My periods became regular.
  • My PCOS was almost negligible.
  • My energy levels are awesome.
  • My body feels lighter.
  • At the end of my program, compliments started flowing in about how I look younger and have lost weight.
  • I have learned to make healthy choices in choosing my food and I realized what suits my body and what doesn’t.

“I am enjoying this transformation. It is helping me get back to a healthier life like how I was in my teenage years. But at that time, I was ignorant about food and exercise. Now I am learning the ropes with this program. At every step, Mishita was my guiding lamp. Incalculable thanks to Luke, Mishita, and the entire team from the bottom of my heart,” she shared.

Our two cents

If you, as you are reading this already have fatty liver, don’t despair. Grade 3 NAFLD is when a lot of fat has accumulated around your liver and there is high inflammation. You can reverse and prevent it from progressing to more severe stages.

The usual course is Mild Fatty Liver > Grade 1 > Grade 2 > Grade 3 > Cirrhotic Liver > Liver Transplant…

You have the power to control this progression or at least slow it down.

Numerous of our clients have avoided a liver transplant, which is the last stage by making lifestyle changes because they realized that it’s much easier to change lifestyle than face a transplant and a lifetime of immunosuppressants.

Reversing fatty liver…think it can’t be done? Think again.

No medicine exists for it. But here’s something you might not know – it can be done, it’s being done, and it has been done! All it takes is a few lifestyle changes and consistency.

You might think that fatty liver is only a concern for heavy drinkers, but that’s far from the truth. Even non-alcoholics can develop it. The good news is that the approach to handling fatty liver is the same for both – alcoholics and non-alcoholics. Of course, quitting alcohol is an additional step for alcohol-related fatty liver.

So, what does it take to turn things around? Firstly, let go of fear. Secondly, take action.

Here’s what it takes…

  • Lose excess body fat
  • No processed and ultra-processed foods
  • Avoid deep-fried foods, especially those cooked in reused oil
  • Keep an eye out for high fructose corn syrup (HFCS) on food labels
  • Start weight training
  • Prioritize quality sleep
  • If you have high blood pressure or diabetes, take steps to manage them
  • For women, balance estrogen levels as it plays a protective role
  • Enjoy good quality black coffee if it suits you
  • Consume healthy fats like MUFAs (olive oil, nuts, seeds, avocados), PUFAs, and good saturated fats.
  • Say no to refined oils
  • No-brainer, but quit tobacco, smoking, vaping (and sheesha too!)
  • Make smart carb choices
  • Be cautious of fructose overload. No fruit platters, bowls, and fruit juices.

This is the secret because, truth be told, there is no miracle drug for fatty liver. But by following these lifestyle changes consistently, you can protect your liver from further damage.

How do I say this? Because we’ve seen transformations of our own patients, and countless other success stories, Dashma’s journey is just one among many.

The beauty lies in the fact that the lifestyle changes she made not only resulted in a remarkable improvement in her fatty liver condition from Grade 3 to 2 but also positively impacted her acidity, hormonal balance, energy levels, and overall fat loss.

Move from struggle to strength today.
