New Year Resolutions for your health and your body
Every year people around the world spend that time early in January or towards the end of December getting together their New Year resolutions which is usually fuelled or promoted by social media and everything else. What if we could have a good time and still continue to lose that weight that we’re looking to lose for if that’s our goal. What if we could have a good time and still every single day invest in building a strong immunity because it’s all about immunity when it comes to good health and losing weight? Why wait till the first of Jan.
We see that this has become like a fad; new year resolutions; people are good for 2-3 weeks after the first of January and then everyone’s off it and then there’s more desperation and frustration and disappointment because you couldn’t keep up to keeping your new year resolutions.
Willpower has a shelf life. What really matters is self-motivation and feeling that you have that comes from inside of you that promotes you or motivates you to work out every day, to eat the right foods every day, to eat in moderation, to drink water the right way, to think the right thoughts, to spend some time not only exercising your body but also exercising your mind. You don’t need to wait for the first of January for that. You can start it right now. At this moment you can decide to start doing one small thing that impacts your health every single day. If you’re partying at night you still have almost 9 to 10 to 12 hours during the day which are within your control to do that one little thing that can contribute towards your health, your body and your fitness. There’s definitely no dieting during Christmas because anyway diets don’t work. Moderation will keep you healthy and will keep your weight down
Eating with guilt is the biggest mistake you can ever make because when you eat with guilt you produce stress in your body. Stress produces a hormone called cortisol, which instructs your body and other hormones to store fat. So if you decided to eat that piece of cake, if you’ve decided to have that glass of alcohol, if you decided to eat something which you think is unhealthy enjoy it truly and your body will break it down; but then again if you go on eating the same thing and over consuming it your body cannot and does not know what to do with that extra calorie and it stores it as fat. So make up your mind right now that whatever it is that you’re going to eat you’re going to eat it with love, you’re going to eat it mindfully, you’re going to truly enjoy it and there’s not going to be guilt.
No matter what time you sleep at night if you can get in an afternoon nap so that you recharge your battery, you rejuvenate your brain, you let your cells relax; grow your muscles recover that’s going to be good for you. There’s no rule about what time you need to go to sleep. When you’re having a good time enjoy yourself but there’s always something called compensation, where you can compensate and help your body get the rest and recovery that it needs.
If you know you’re going to have a festive evening or you are going to have a wedding or that party or you going to be clubbing out at night, you still have that morning to control where you can choose to help your body detoxify by having fruits from breakfast right up to lunch and then go out and have a good time without any guilt. You don’t have to go on any strict detoxification plan during the season but just having fruits from breakfast to lunch and your lemon water is enough to detoxify you because remember we put on weight and we get unhealthy when our body cannot deal with the toxic overload that we create for it and the environment creates for it. So if we help our body detoxify, if we help our body take out some of those toxins your body is going to support you.
For every bad thing you do, do two good things. It’s as simple as that. So you going to have a bad meal make sure you get a portion of salad at the side so at least you’re getting those raw enzymes that can help your body continue to function how it needs to. After all to have a good time you need a healthy body. So make your mind, make your body healthy, make it work together so that you can have a great holiday and you can have a great time and don’t wait till the first of Jan for those new year resolutions.
Start it today. Just take up that one little lifestyle change that you’re going to make in the next minute in the next one hour. Whatever it takes you can start doing it right now. You can find time on your holiday to be physically active. Do your 10,000 steps, be active, and walk. I am not saying join a gym or spend your holiday at a gym but you can do a couple of push-ups, you can do a couple of squats, there are so many different things; just hold a plank if you have to but keep your body physically active. Decide right now how you want to be who you want to be and just start doing that, start living.
