Diagnosed With a 5.5 cm Cyst: 90 Days Later, Lost 9 Kgs, Ultra Scan Revealed Cyst Had Disappeared
In November 2020, we first received a message from her. She was at her lowest, physically and mentally.
Diagnosed with a 5.5 cm cyst in the right ovary with severe abdominal pain.
Admitted to the hospital for emergency observation and complication. Discharged with a warning to remove the cyst within a month or if the pain persisted.
“I had seen four doctors in a row, one of whom even suggested surgery to remove the cyst, ovary, and uterus – all at once. It was a major blow to me. I returned home and texted Luke. The response was immediate.”
Our Nutritionist and Lifestyle Expert Anita Varier worked closely with her once she signed up.
“The first week of the program was tough initially because I had to change my food plan. At one point, I thought, let me give up. I can’t do this program. But deep down, I knew I had to get rid of the cyst and get back my energy levels. I was a fitness and health freak who had increased weight. I could not reduce it even with intensive exercise.”
Rewind to December 2020 before she joined us
Weight – 72 kg
Cyst – 5.5 cm
Low vitamin D3
Low vitamin B12
And several other deficiencies related to hormonal imbalance
“By week 2, I took my program seriously and worked on it with discipline and consistency.”
Cut to 90 days later in March 2021
“I got an ultra scan and to my shock, the report stated the cyst had regressed entirely, and there were no traces of any small particles. What more did I need in life? I had lost weight from 72 to 63 kgs, and all my deficiencies concerning Vitamin D, B12, and other hormonal imbalances improved according to the required range.
My cloth size dropped from L to S. Now I can wear my daughter’s clothes. There is a massive difference in my waist size from 34 to 30 inches. More importantly, my energy levels have spiked. I’m so indebted to Luke and Anita,” she shares.
Life lessons beyond the results…
“I have learned life lessons from your program about health, food, and exercise. Anita, you have given me immense strength throughout the program and are very supportive of my calls and texts. You are too sweet a person and were very comfortable discussing anything. I believe that I have saved my organs in the right way.”

Have ovarian cysts or fibroids?
Yes, surgery is always an option, but there is so much more you can do beyond that using your lifestyle.
Get down to the root cause of why your body made that cyst in the first place.
Our two cents
Ovarian cysts and fibroids – are painful, and can cause irregular menses, infertility, painful intercourse, and much more.
Yes, surgery is always an option, but there is much more you can do beyond that.
For any phenomenon to occur, a favorable environment must support it. Similar to cancer, an enabling environment within your body is required for the uncontrolled growth of cells. So what environment must have supported the growth of a cyst or a fibroid in the body?
Integrative and Lifestyle Medicine delves into root causes. One of the significant contributors to the growth of cysts or fibroids is excess estrogen. Estrogen dominance is common among both men and women today. While estrogen is necessary, in excess, it can cause problems.
What triggers excess estrogen in the body? Common culprits include:
- Chronic constipation
- Excess body fat
- Overuse/misuse of hormone pills
- Chronic stress and poor sleep (affects nearly every hormone)
- Prior hormonal therapies (underscoring the importance of working with doctors to manage side effects)
- Xenoestrogen exposure from cosmetics, plastics, pesticides, and so on
Excess estrogen is a concern not just with cysts and fibroids but also hormone-dependent cancers such as breast, ovarian, uterine, cervical, and even endometriosis. In men, excess estrogen can lower testosterone and reduce energy, muscle growth, and sex drive, and even cause depression and erectile dysfunction.
One of our primary focuses then become to handle this estrogen dominance by encouraging lifestyle changes, the right foods, sleep, exercise, metabolic repair, gut health, establishing the circadian rhythm, and much more.
For many women like her, we have witnessed fibroids and cysts shrinking and even disappearing, much to their and their doctors’ astonishment.
So you see, an approach to attaining hormonal balance is much more than adding ashwagandha and oral contraceptives. Take it if you must but also realize the power you hold when you combine it with lifestyle changes.
Disclaimer: While this may inspire you, please remember that each case is unique. What worked for her doesn’t necessarily have to work for you. If you have a medical condition or are on medications, please keep your doctor in the loop before trying anything new. Make an informed decision, always.
