Joint Pain? Sore Muscles? Sprain? Swelling? This Homemade Magic Oil Can Help

Are you struggling with chronic inflammatory pain? Joint pain? Arthritic pain? Fibromyalgia pain? Sore and aching muscles? Tennis elbow? Sprain? Swelling and bruising?

Here is an inexpensive and natural painkiller remedy that can soothe all the above.

When I was skating a couple of years ago, I hurt my ankle. I usually don’t use painkillers unless really required, so my first resort was to find something natural. While researching, I stumbled upon the incredible properties of nutmeg oil in relieving pain. When I massaged the concoction I am sharing with you over my ankle the same night, the magic unfolded within 24 hours. I woke up with no pain and went about my day. This concoction has worked brilliantly for me and my patients.

But before we get what this is, you need to understand that there could be many reasons why you may be experiencing aches and pains.

Let’s look at a few examples, shall we?

While the reasons could be multifactorial, many people experience knee pain because of tight calf muscles, tight lower back muscles, tight hamstrings, and tight quads. When you have this tightness, the pain pulls onto what lies in between – your knee.

Similarly, some people have lower back problems due to tight hamstrings, glutes, and quads. The tight muscle pulls on the muscles surrounding it, generating this pain. You may also have elbow pain because of a tennis elbow or trapezius pain and neck pain due to poor posture, being hunched for long periods while working at your computer, or looking at your phone at a particular angle.

Sometimes, we have high inflammatory levels in the body. In other cases, our nerves get pinched, which can also cause excruciating pain. A lot of people mistake the pain from pinched nerves for sciatica. They have corresponding issues in their peripheral nerves and tissues that can cause sciatica-like pain. It makes it crucial to identify your issue at the root and fix it.

No matter what kind of physical pains or aches you have, investigate them thoroughly – internally and externally.

What is this magic concoction/remedy?

It is an external application that I want to teach you to make at home. While this cannot treat your problem at its root, it can certainly give you some amount of relief. We have been using this for nine years with our patients with bone cancer and those with the pains and aches we spoke about.

The magic ingredient in this is nutmeg oil.

How to make this?

  • Get quality essential nutmeg oil. You will find it online or in any health store in India and the world. Source it from a brand you trust. (You can shop for it here.)
  • You also need coconut oil or sesame oil to use as the carrier oil. Remember to never use essential oils in their raw form because these are highly concentrated. It is crucial to mix them with a carrier oil.
  • Take a small bowl. Add 6 to 8 drops of nutmeg oil and one tablespoon of coconut or sesame oil.
  • Mix this well.

How to apply this nutmeg oil concoction?

  • Always do a patch test on the back of your hand or the inside of your palm/wrist to rule out any allergies to the oils you are using.
  • If the patch test is good, within an hour, you can apply the concoction gently on the area that’s hurting you, whether it’s your muscle or bone.
  • Massage it gently and deeply in a circular pattern.
  • You can choose to apply this twice or thrice a day.
  • It is recommended you do it before you hit the hay because your muscles and body relax when you sleep. Regeneration and recovery happen in a state of deep sleep.
  • You can make this concoction fresh every time you want to use it. Or you can make it in a larger quantity, store it in a bottle, and apply it when required.
  • Another power tip to improve the effectiveness of this remedy is this. Let’s say it’s your knee or elbow that’s hurting. Once you have applied the oil, take a warm towel and place it on the area for 5 to 6 minutes. It helps increase the absorption.

Now, you can also opt to build this nutmeg oil concoction up.

  • If the pain is severe, add 4 to 5 drops of rosemary essential oil to the concoction. You will find this easily online or in different health stores.
  • The remaining procedure is the same:
    • 6 to 8 drops of essential nutmeg oil
    • A tablespoon of coconut or sesame oil
    • 4 to 5 drops of rosemary oil
    • Mix this concoction well and apply it gently to the affected area.

What to be mindful of?

Here are some disclaimers:

  • Avoid applying this concoction on open wounds, broken skin, cuts, or lesions.
  • If you have eczema or psoriasis, don’t use it where the skin is broken.
  • Please don’t forget to mix the essential oil with a carrier oil.
  • Always perform a patch test before application to rule out any sensitivity.
  • This application is purely for joint pain and muscle pain.

What is the science behind this remedy?

  • The science is simple.
  • Both these oils are highly anti-inflammatory and are easily absorbed into the skin.
  • Nutmeg, also known as Jaiphal, has been used for centuries as a natural pain reliever for inflamed joints and a mild sedative.
  • This aromatic spice, rich in magnesium, manganese, copper, potassium, vitamins B1, B6, and calcium, is truly a gift of nature in both its raw and oil forms.
  • Nutmeg-infused or essential nutmeg oil has anti-inflammatory, pain-relieving, muscle relaxant, and antibacterial properties.
  • Nutmeg contains natural chemicals like eugenol, terpenes, and trimyristin which can help induce sleep, relax tired muscles and nerves, bring a sense of calm, and relieve pain, swelling, and inflammation.

Try it, to believe it. It is fantastic. Remember, sometimes if the pain doesn’t get better but becomes worse, keep your medical professionals in the loop because there could be an underlying problem that needs to be diagnosed and treated.

But let’s say, you are constantly popping over-the-counter painkillers like candy and spoiling your kidney but nothing you do seems to reduce the pain, try this nutmeg oil concoction. We have many patients who have reduced their painkillers by using this oil. It works like magic. If your kids complain of leg pain after sports, massage this oil for not more than 3 to 4 minutes.

It smells great, so you don’t have to worry about sharp or pungent odors. You can apply it at home and even step out because it smells good.

The bottom line

Going through arthritis, neuropathy, fibromyalgia, or multiple sclerosis can lead to severe pain which can affect sleep and recovery. Many patients, including athletes experiencing chronic pain, muscle/nerve/joint pain, swelling or soreness, and tennis elbow, have found relief through our nutmeg oil protocol. The impact of this on reducing pain and inflammation has been simply miraculous.
