Here's a summer drink recipe that is an added twist to regular lemonade with basil seeds. It will naturally boost your immunity. Make this delicious, cooling, and hydrating thirst quencher and indulge in it without feeling guilty.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp sabja or basil seeds
  • 1 tsp organic jaggery powder or raw honey, as per taste or availability
  • 1- inch grated ginger
  • 8 mint leaves, crushed well
  • A glass of water

Instructions
 

  • Soak sabja seeds in water for 10 minutes.
  • Grate or crush the ginger and mint in a pestle.
  • Add all the ingredients into a glass of water with lemon juice and organic jaggery powder or honey.
  • Garnish with mint leaves. Enjoy.

Power tips and variations

  • You can use chia seeds if sabja/sweet basil seeds are unavailable.
  • Do not consume raw sabja seeds, especially for young children. It may be a choking hazard. Always soak them.

  • Sabja or basil seeds are rich in fiber. They keep you fuller for longer and curb cravings.
  • They are also rich in magnesium, calcium, iron, and phosphorus.
  • These tiny wonder seeds are also rich in omega-3 fatty acids.

Learn to make the instant Shikanji which will give an instant cooling effect to your body.

Ingredients
  

  • A glass of water
  • 3-4 tbsp sattu
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tsp roasted jeera powder/cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp chaat masala
  • 1/2 tsp black salt
  • Chopped green chili, as per taste
  • 2 tsp coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • 2 tsp mint leaves, finely chopped
  • 1 tsp raw mango, finely chopped

Instructions
 

  • Add water, sattu, salt, black salt, roasted cumin powder, chaat masala, green chili, onion, coriander leaves, mint leaves, and lemon juice to a bowl. Mix well.
  • Pour the mix into a glass. Add raw mango, coriander leaves, and mint leaves to it.
  • Sattu Shikanji is ready to be served.

Power Tips and Variations

  • You can also opt to use barley sattu (jau sattu) made of roasted barley if it suits you.
  • Pour in a few drops of raw honey if you want your Shikanji to be sweeter.
